Wigan Central Masjid
Historical Significance:
The new Wigan Central Masjid is housed in a historical building originally constructed in 1870.
The building, now licensed as a place of worship, has been transformed into the Wigan Central Masjid.
Building Features:
The Masjid is a large structure, covering approximately 500 square meters.
Upon completion of renovations, including the addition of a new mezzanine floor, the Masjid will accommodate up to 1000 people.
Community Vision:
After years of searching, this building was identified as the ideal location for the new Masjid.
The space will serve multiple purposes beyond being a place of worship, including:
New Masjid: A center for daily prayers and religious gatherings.
After School Club/Activities:
Providing educational and recreational programs for children.
Community Hub: A central space for community engagement and activities.
Food Bank: Supporting those in need within the community.
